Come and help us usher in Christmas 2016 in the historic town and seaport of Fowey, at our world-renowned annual Christmas Market.
Evening opening of Town Quay Marquees and Webb Street Market. Santa arrives by tug to Berril’s Yard. Lantern Parade and Samba Band follow Father Christmas to the church gates. Christmas lights and Big Switch On at the church gates. Live Christmas music. Lane of lights. Hog roast. Mulled wine and treats. Full details to be confirmed.
Over the 2nd weekend in December our beautiful town will be hosting a weekend of festive entertainment, food and drink, along with plenty of opportunities to pick up some unique Christmas gifts. Now in its 12th year the Fowey Christmas Market continues to go from strength to strength.
Whether you are a local resident or welcome visitor to our gorgeous town, you'll find plenty to do when the market opens with an evening of Festive entertainment on Friday 9th December from 5.00pm – 8.30pm and continues trading all day Saturday and Sunday.
Live Events South West are arranging the exciting selection of traders in the Town Quay Marquees and there will be local crafts in the Webb Street Market and Town Hall. There will also be a second market place within Fowey Leisure Centre with a regular mini-bus service between the two. When you visit you will undoubtedly find some of your favourite stalls alongside some new and exciting produce to enliven this year’s market.
As ever, there will be a seasoned mix of exhibitors with an emphasis on exceptional food, with numerous delicacies for you to savour... and as for entertainment, we are planning seasonal music supplied by local choirs and musicians, along with our special stilt walkers, who will be leading visitors from the market through the town centre. As well as all this, Fowey has a fantastic array of unique independent shops, great restaurants and cafes, hotels and guest houses all in the most beautiful location.
Also, what self respecting Christmas Market would be the same without a visit from Father Christmas himself? Well, get ready to meet him in person as he sails into town on Friday evening. Why not join in the lantern parade too? Otherwise, you can visit him at his grotto in the Butter Market over the weekend
Watch this space for more details – a free programme will be available in early November and we should have the full timetable of events by the end of October. We hope to see you here!

The Fowey Christmas Market is brought to you by The Port of Fowey Chamber of Commerce. We aim to bring together local businesses so that they can work together on matters that affect them all. Our focus is on doing those things that are better done collectively, rather than by businesses working individually.
Our aim is to support the development of a vibrant and sustainable business community. We do this by:
Encouraging networking and discussion. We hold regular networking events, such as our regular Curry Club evenings, and by holding bi monthly Chamber meetings (all members are welcome to attend these and we publish the agenda and minutes). Chamber committee members are also always keen to help and support new and existing businesses by providing information and listening to concerns. We will also be offering a series of educational events where members can learn new skills that will support their businesses
Raising the profile of the town and bringing in visitors. Our main focus is on organising the Christmas Market and the Summer Big Gig Event. But we do other things as well, such as sponsoring the town map
Representing our members where there is an issue where we can be of help. High on our agenda for issues that need to be addressed are parking, traffic and town signage and we are looking for volunteers to take the lead in tackling these areas
We work with other organisations in the town such as the Town Council, Fowey Forum and Regatta Committee to ensure that our activities are properly coordinated.
We rely completely on volunteers – so if anyone wants to get involved (either on a specific project or issue, or in the general running of the Chamber), then they should contact any of the Chamber committee members, using the contact details below.
